During the last week in March Professor Heather McGregor, Executive Dean and a team from Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University visited our approved learning partner in Nigeria, Executive Development Centre (EDC).

The trip included a numbers of meetings and events with corporate partners, prospective students and current students and alumni.  In both Lagos and Abuja we hosted evening receptions which were attended by hundreds of current students and alumni who work in a wide range of industries and sectors across Nigeria.  Attendees had the chance to hear from Professor McGregor about some of the exciting projects currently happening at Heriot-Watt and took the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones, building their social and professional networks.

Among the staff attending was Adam Gillies, Edinburgh Business School’s Alumni Engagement Officer who said, “It’s been truly inspiring to meet so many successful graduates, current students and aspiring students during our time here in Nigeria.

“In Nigeria alone we have over 2,200 graduates and each individual has their own student story to tell. In Abuja I was fortunate to meet two brothers who had both studied on campus at Heriot-Watt, following in the footsteps of their uncle and grandfather who are both fellow graduates. The Watt Club really is one big family and a truly international one at that!”

Also in attendance was Dike Andrew Ukaegbu, Watt Club Nigeria’s chairperson who said “It’s great to see so many fellow graduates here tonight.  I encourage you all to stay in touch with the branch and to get involved in our alumni events and activity throughout the year.”
